Firefighters put off forest fire on La Gomera in the Canary Islands in April 2008. The fire, which has ravaged over 2,000 hectares (5,000 acres) in northeastern Spain, broke out amid scorching temperatures on Tuesday afternoon in a pine forest near the town of Zuera.
