A balding Paul Bettany shoots scenes with costar Toby Jones for their upcoming bio drama, Creation, in London on Friday.

In the film, Bettany, 37, plays world-renowned scientist Charles Darwin, who conceives a book that purportedly proves the non-existence of God. Crushed by the loss of his eldest daughter, Darwin writes his master-work, “The Origin of Species”. The movie tells of a global revolution played out the confines of a small English village; a passionate marriage torn apart by the most dangerous idea in history; and a theory saved from extinction by the logic of a child.

Bettany’s real-life wife Jennifer Connelly will play Emma Darwin, the wife (and cousin) of Charles. Emma was also the mother of their ten children.
