The Hills villain Spencer Pratt admits his marriage to Heidi Montag on November 19 in Mexico was fake — but only because he was uninformed.

“I didn’t even know you have to legalize a wedding,” Spencer claims to In Touch. “I thought growing up, you say ‘I do’ and you’re married.”

Heidi agrees.

“We had our elopement, and to me, that counts,” she said. “But we’re going to have a bigger wedding for friends and family.”

Vows Spencer, “We’ll definitely have it on TV because of the fans and haters.”

The happy couple, who eloped south of the border last week, was seen enjoying their first week of wedded bliss at their private villa in the exclusive One and Only Palmilia resort in Los Cabos. While there, Speidi was also seen filming scenes for an upcoming episode of The Hills.

Earlier today,Spencer called Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Thursday to respond to comments made by Heidi Montag’s mom.

Spencer fired back, saying, “I can’t wait to prove her wrong and be married for the rest of our lives. I’m sure she’s just hurt and reacting crazy because she wasn’t there.”

When asked if he’ll be spending the holidays with Heidi’s mom, Spencer said, “The Pratts - as in Heidi Pratt and Spencer Pratt - will probably have their own Christmas tree.”

The 46-year-old mom adds, “He’s manipulative and seems to have power over Heidi. I would like to see a blood test from Mexico. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had her drugged. Spencer has tried to cut everyone out of her life. I’ve been honest with Heidi, and it’s caused our relationship to decline. I’m more devastated about that than the marriage, because I’m confident the marriage won’t work out.”

As for how long Darlene thinks their marriage will last, she said, “Six months. I think it’s the biggest mistake Heidi’s ever made.”

The Hills star Heidi Montag unfortunately will be not getting a second year for her clothing line, Heidiwood. Anchor Blue spokeswoman Marla White tells NYMag that Heidi’s one-year contract will not be renewed.

“We just felt that the one year was a great year for both of us, and we’re looking into other options,” she explained. “We really found that we want to explore … what style really means to our girl … and that doesn’t necessarily mean a celebrity brand. It really means fashion and comfort, and we can really accomplish that with our own brand… We’re taking a completely new style direction and we’re very, very excited about it.”

Anchor Blue also plans on opening ten new stores next year.

“I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about everything. I’m so sorry for every negative or hurtful comment I’ve ever said. That is not how I feel or who I am. I think you are a great person and I will always cherish our memories. Thank you for everything you have ever done for me. I really wish things hadn’t turned out this way but I take responsibility. This whole thing has also been really hard for me.

Heidi Montag and longtime boyfriend Spencer Pratt celebrate her 22nd birthday with a lavish birthday bash at the Christian Audigier Nightclub inside Treasure Island Hotel and Casino on Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Her actual birthday was on Monday.)

The 22-year-old Hills starlet proudly complemented her sparkly Herve Leger bandage dress with a crucifix pendant around her neck.

When Spencer was asked when the couple was getting married, he said, “Very soon, very soon.”

Heidi chimed in, “I’m waiting!”

Asked if she was designing your own wedding dress, Heidi replied excitedly, “Of course, of course!”

The happy couple met restaurant owner Wolfgang Puck (pictured) and took time to admire the images with Jennifer Kellen, the director of Ace Gallery, where Scholler exhibits his work.
