What was the first song you could play through? Every kid with a guitar at that time, the first things that came up were almost always “Smoke on the Water,” obviously, and “25 or 6 to 4,” by Chicago. But the first song I played all the way through must have been “Stairway to Heaven.” I remember getting through the fingerpicking and just cursing Jimmy Page.
What was your first band? When I was about thirteen, I got together with some other kids in the neighborhood. This one guy had a bass, we knew a guy who had a PA system, we made our own lights. It was really ramshackle and great. We’d play at people’s backyard parties. Everything from the Beatles to Led Zeppelin to Cheap Trick to Devo — and “Johnny B. Goode” was the closer.
You’ve got that wistful look in your eyes. You’re thirteen years old and you’re playing rock & roll. Loud. Poorly. But somebody’s letting you do it in their back yard. And it was absolute perfection. It was freedom. Right off the bat, there was no question: I had found my future.

Just weeks before her hospital visit, Britney Spears took part in a photoshoot with Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.
“She was very loving,” OK! photographer Dani Brubaker says. “She told me she loved her children and that they are her life. I’m told that when she saw the photographs she literally cried for over an hour and stared at them all night long.”
A friend added, “The only reason she’s doing this is because she wants [her sons] to look up to her onstage and be like, ‘That’s my mama,’ and be proud of her. She’d put her life before them and die for Jayden and Preston. They’re her whole world. Britney has always said, ‘I would die for my boys if that’s what it took to prove I loved them. I’d do anything for them.’ ”
People is also reporting that Dr. Phil violated the trust of Britney’s family by making public statements about his hospital visit with Brit Brit and his call for her to receive therapy.

On not having to tell the world she’s pregnant: “I kind of feel like everybody knew anyway. I was on tour with a bubble gut!”
On the public’s fascination with her pregnancy: “I do realize people want to know because they’re interested, but this is the first time I’m going through this. This is my experience and my husband’s experience, and we get to hold that for a little while. We’re just getting used to the fact that we’ve told everybody.”
On her privacy: “I’m just feeling too protective to open that door right now. It’s a Pandora’s box. It’s a destructive lifestyle to be out there. I know because I’ve lived it. Being on the cover of the tabloids every day for two years - it’s hard. You start forgetting who you really are inside.”
On her husband: “Marc [Anthony] is a really private person, and he’s been singing onstage since he was really young. He made me realize you can be an artist, and have credibility and success, without your life being on public display 24 hours a day.”
On taking time off after giving birth: “I don’t know - and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years. Once I did the tour, I really just wanted to shut it down, and since then I’ve had to do three things, including a video. It may not sound like a lot, but you know, as this point, any woman can sympathize. It is a lot. I was ready just to sit.”

Gwyneth Paltrow grabs dinner at Italian joint Morandi on Waverly Place in New York’s West Village on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old actress bought a few items with her assistant and guy friend in tow. Linds carried around a LeSportsac pouch and her Blackberry Curve.
Lohan is currently in a legal battle with the the woman she allegedly chased during the infamous DUI arrest last July. Tracie Rice is seeking unspecified damages, says the incident caused emotional trauma and cost her thousands of dollars in doctors’ bills ($7,000 on medical bills, including a therapist who charges $175 per visit) and her a well-paying $60K/year job.

Kate Winslet is replacing mom-to-be Nicole Kidman in the new drama The Reader.
“Kate was offered it first before Nicole but couldn’t do it but the dates clashed with commitments to Revolutionary Road,” an insider tells People. “So the dates changed, Nicole then got pregnant and now it has come back to Kate.”
Added the source, “Actually everyone is happy now – Nicole as she has a baby on the way, Kate because she has this great role she originally wanted to do, and the filmmakers are too.”
The Reader is about an affair between a teenage boy and an older woman in post-WWII Germany.

On her current fashion sense: “Right now my style is very frenetic. It seriously changes as quickly as my mood.”
On her shoe fetish: “I’m kind of obsessive about really stunning heels. I get excited even taking the elevator up to the shoe floor at Bergdorf [Goodman].”
On transitioning from jeans-and-flip-flops teenager to glamorous Hollywood actress: “I’ve only recently been able to try out a bunch of different styles without feeling like I’m dressing beyond my age. On the show, I spend most of my time in a cheerleading uniform, so in real life I like to have a lot more fun with my clothes.”

The vid has a very “outer space” feel to it but start watching from the 2-minute mark because dayum, Janet’s dancing makes me all tingly inside!
As always, the choreography is tight and the special effects, especially the ending, is perfection. HOT HOT HOT!!!!!

“It made me feel a little embarrassed to be honest,” Hewitt, 28, told Extra. “It made me a little sad. It hurt my feelings. And I think we should let people be!”
She also told The Insider: “I was on the cover of People Magazine in a bad bikini shot. I worked 20 years in this business and that’s how I got the cover of People!”
Hewitt added, “It was not my best day, it was not my best week. I didn’t go frolic on the beach and feel really excited that those pictures were out there. Somebody decided to say that I was the epitome of what isn’t attractive on a beach.”
