Dita Von Teese is pretty in pink at the 2008 British Comedy Awards held at the London Television Studios in the UK.

Russell Brand, who hosted this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, picked up the award for Best Live Stand-Up Performer of 2008. Ricky Gervais, who created the the UK and US Versions of The Office, picked up Best TV Comedy Actor of 2008 for his work in Extras: Christmas Special (BBC Comedy for BBC1).

And you can never go wrong with black lace - it’s something every woman should have in her drawer.”

“Turn the Lights Down Low” — The real secret to looking great in lingerie? Good lighting. I’m not in bad shape, but it’s still the most important thing. Lighting is one of the most carefully calculated parts of any burlesque show, and after 15 years of performing I know what looks good and what doesn’t. Soft pink light is far and away the most flattering. Overhead light can be harsh and unflattering, so opt for mid-level instead. Or just turn them down - I have dimmer switches in every room of my home!

The 35-year-old burlesque beauty tells The Sun: “It’s a really fun film and represents a stripped down but exaggerated version of my real life. I was a little blonde growing up in a farming community, there wasn’t a lot of glamour there and I felt very ordinary and plain. Lingerie is one of the things that came into play when I was starting to create my own mystique and glamour.”

The 35-year-old burlesque queen continued to bring back the “crescent fingernails” trend. Basically, your manicurist paints your fingernails a certain color (red, in Dita’s case) but leaves the lunula unpainted. (The lunula is the crescent shaped whitish area of the nail bed.)
