Kevin Federline wants to shed the negative image the public has of him: boy toy, gold-digger, wannabe rapper, partier. He tells People he answers to one name: Daddy.

The 30-year-old former backup dancer split with Britney Spears back in 2006 and is focusing on his four kids — Preston, 3, Jayden, 2, Kori, 6, and Kaleb, 4. (The last two are with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson, 32.) Here are some snippets from his interview with the mag:

A lot of people assumed you fought for custody of the kids because of money. My first question to [my lawyer] was, “Am I ever going to be able to see my children?” I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That’s all that mattered. I didn’t know how much power Britney had. That really scared me.

How did you react in January when Britney locked herself in the bathroom with Jayden and was later taken to the hospital on a gurney? That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her ’cause I care about her. That’s the mother of my children. Just because I’m not in love with her doesn’t mean that I don’t love her. I’m definitely rooting for her. There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.

Her mom’s fury is unleashed in the latest issue of Us Weekly. Darlene fumes, “I don’t trust Spencer. He wants to possess her more than marry her. I’m very frightened for her.”

The 46-year-old mom adds, “He’s manipulative and seems to have power over Heidi. I would like to see a blood test from Mexico. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had her drugged. Spencer has tried to cut everyone out of her life. I’ve been honest with Heidi, and it’s caused our relationship to decline. I’m more devastated about that than the marriage, because I’m confident the marriage won’t work out.”

As for how long Darlene thinks their marriage will last, she said, “Six months. I think it’s the biggest mistake Heidi’s ever made.”

If she doesn’t trust Spencer, why did Darlene do a Mother’s Day photo shoot with Heidi and Spencer earlier this year?

Actress Jessica Biel joins her family in hosting the Make the Difference Network Holiday Party at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

At the event, the 26-year-old actress helped with painting faces, decorating shoes and other fun kids’ activities. Singer Alex Band (formerly of The Calling) also made an appearance.

Jessica is a co-founder of the Make the Difference Network, working through it to raise awareness and funds for the many nonprofit organizations and causes.

Miranda Kerr celebrates the grand opening of Victoria’s Secret new Lexington Avenue flagship store in New York City on Tuesday.

“My mom didn’t mind seeing me up there in my underwear ,” Kerr recently said of her modeling. “I am 25 and it’s all very lovely and like a costume. It’s beautiful and romantic … it’s not like standing up there in my everyday underwear. It’s a theatrical show and everyone is there to have a good time.”

Despite the rumors, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr are not engaged, Orlando’s rep told JustJared.com on Sunday.
