"Manhattanhenge," the visually stunning phenomenon that occurs twice a year when the sun sets in perfect alignment with Manhattan's street grid, was seen last Thursday and Friday, lasting for 15 minutes, according to the Museum of Natural History. The term Manhattanhenge was coined in 2002 by Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History

Mischa is a Barton Butterfly

Jessica Alba Welcomes Daughter

Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren are proud parents of a daughter, reports Us Weekly.

Their beautiful baby girl was born this weekend at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Alba’s rep has yet to officially comment on the baby news.

Jess, 26, and Cash, 28, announced they were expecting last December and shortly after, announced their engagement. The pair married at a secret ceremony on May 19 at the Beverly Hills courthouse.

The Jonas Brothers opened up for the 23-year-old Canadian singer and will continue to tour with her in Europe for the rest of the month.

Ms. Lavigne continues her professional evolution, reportedly landing a lead role in a movie. She has previously had minor parts in The Flock, Fast Food Nation and also provided her voice for the animated movie Over The Hedge. Regarding the new film, she said, “I’ve got a film role coming up - something you wouldn’t expect from me, something deep and dark.”

Michelle Williams takes a leisurely walk through New York City on Sunday with her daughter Matilda, 2 1/2.

At the Australians in Film 2008 Breakthrough Awards in Beverly Hills this past Thursday, director Gregor Jordan announced the formation of a Heath Ledger scholarship fund to help struggling Australian actors. Each year, one young actor from Australia will be given the chance to make it in Hollywood.

Gregor, who befriended Heath after directing him in 1999’s Two Hands, said, “It’s going to involve a number of benefactors and there’s been a lot of interest already. I was talking to Michelle Williams, his partner and the mother of his child, today and Michelle has said she would be very proud and happy to be the first benefactor.”
