Not surprisingly, swimming champ Michael Phelps has been named “Sportsman of the Year” by Sports Illustrated.

In the mag’s article, unfortunately, there’s no mention of his girlfriend Caroline Pal. But here’s how the piece closes:

“By championing the cause of water safety Phelps could save many lives, and the trajectory of others will be changed merely by his inspirational example. In 2012, when we are deep into another presidential election and facing challenges that have yet to reveal themselves, Phelps will once again unite a nation. He does not swim alone. He swims for all of us.”

Victoria’s Secret angel Heidi Klum helps VS CEO Sharen Turney cut the ribbon at the opening of the Victoria Secret Lexington Avenue Flagship Store on Tuesday in New York City.

The red hot vixen was joined by fellow angeels Selita Banks, Marisa Miller, Alessandra Ambrosia and Doutzen Kroes.

Miller, Kroes and Miranda Kerr (not pictured) are the newest models to be given their wings by the lingerie giant.

Victoria’s Secret annual TV fashion show airs tomorrow night on CBS.

Brad Pitt sat down for another interview with Today Show’s Ann Curry to talk about his Make It Right Foundation project in New Orleans. He also talked a bit about his family:

On his six children: “I’m really proud of this family. I look at my sons and daughters. … I feel rich being around them. Each one offers so much to the mix.”

On why he doesn’t talk much about his family in interviews: “I just walk away feeling bad about it when I do. It seems to get cheapened somehow as it goes through the filter and the airwaves. I just want to keep it close to the chest.”

On if he’d marry Angelina Jolie: “If we feel it’s important to our kids, we would.”

Matilda was seen munching on a little piece of pita bread as her 28-year-old actress mom sipped on her coffee.

James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff hold hands at The 2008 British Independent Film Awards at The Old Billingsgate, London on Sunday.

The 29-year-old actor and his actress wife served on the jury for the event and then later hung out with Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller.

McAvoy recently named Anne Hathaway as his pick to win this year’s best actress Oscar for her role in Rachel Getting Married. “Anne Hathaway has that indefinable quality of making an audience identify with the character she is playing,” he explained.
