BEIJING, Dec. 16 -- The Chinese advertising industry crowned actress Fan Bingbing as the year's top image girl, or the girl with the highest commercial value.
Fan has starred in more than 30 national and international ad campaigns this year, which has brought in the majority of her income, Web site sohu.com reported.
Ad agencies prefer using Fan since, in addition to her on-screen achievements, she makes less tabloids than before, and has thus garnered a positive image for herself.

John Mayer: Don’t Drink and Drive!
John Mayer just blogged about his admiration for his housemate Chad and the important message of, “Don’t Drink and Drive!” Check out his most recent blog:
“UNDER THE (IMPRESSION I CAN) INFLUENCE (PEOPLE AROUND ME)
I’m taking to the blog today to share something with you that I feel more passionate about than I saw coming. I want to make it short and sweet so that anybody who wants to re-print it can copy and paste without editing…
Went out to dinner Thursday night. My car. One glass of wine. Carpooled from dinner to go out to one more place. Everyone in my car. At the next spot, I do the Diet Coke with Lime thing. My favorite scotch (Lagavulin 16 year) arrives under my nose. “Can’t do it,” I say. Then I find out my friend has switched to Designated Driver and has a plan that involves everyone getting home safe. Cool. I love Lagavulin when the time is right. Now it’s the end of the night and I’m feeling wonderfully buzzy and ready to get dropped off to my house in my car, except the person that was going to follow my car in the DD’s car to drive him back isn’t in shape to drive either.
It’s 2 o’clock in the morning. I call my housemate Chad. Chad’s sleeping. He was in the studio all day. I explain to him that I need him to jump in the back seat of my car, ride to the DD’s car and drive me back home. Of course Chad says “yes” and comes through like a champ. A champ, I say.
Here’s what I want to tell you:
If I, incredibly hot/fugly John Mayer can make that call, so can you.
The distance from the parking lot to my house was about 5 miles, mostly straight shot up the coast of Santa Monica, zero traffic. And I didn’t drive it. Me. The guy who gets the VIP velvet rope treatment in life.
Oh, and the call? It’s not the coolest you’ll ever sound. And the logistics? It’s kind of inelegant. You trace the same route twice when all you want to do is fall into bed. But you gotta do it.
This is all coming from a guy who you can be sure would have found a sexier way to get home if there was one available. And there just isn’t, especially in LA. (You can be sexy again the next day when you wake up with the rest of your big, beautiful life in front of you.)
I’m not writing this to earn golf claps, it’s just that if I’m going to stand in any way as an ambassador of something cool or influential, this is more important than any pair of sneakers or a guitar.
And to give a big high five to the Chads of the world.
See you around
JM”

Javier Bardem @ AFI Awards 2008
No Country For Old Men stars Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin ham it up for the cameras at the 2008 AFI Awards held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Friday in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Bardem, 38, and the entire creative ensemble of No Country For Old Men were recognized by the American Film Institute (AFI) for their contribution to America’s cultural legacy. The plaque reads, “No Country For Old Men breathes new life — and death — into the classic American western. Joel and Ethan Coen construct a film like a steel trap, one that springs and snaps with a ferocity seldom seen in the movies. The film features a killer combination of acting talent — Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem, who creates and then unleashes one of the great screen villains of our time. Drive by heart-stopping tension and pacing, the Coen Brothers‘ masterful juxtaposition of savagery and innocence is a powerful tale of morality in a bleak world where a life can end with the flip of a coin.”

Clay Aiken VS. Newsweek
Round 1!
Newsweek got a little too inquisitive for American Idol alum Clay Aiken. Do you think the interviewer went a little too far? Here’s what went down during a recent sit-down:
How did you get into a fight with that lady on a plane? I’m not going to talk about it.
I was just curious because you’ve never talked about it. I did talk about it.
What about the Kelly Ripa thing? I’m not going to discuss it.
Did you think it was homophobic? I’m not going to discuss it.
What do you want to talk about? I think we’re done.
Can we talk about something fun? No, we’re done. I thought Newsweek would be more reputable. I’m surprised.
But I think people are curious about it. It was a year ago. This is Newsweek. It’s not the National Enquirer. I’d hate to have a job where I had to be rude to people.
I’ll change the subject. What do you do for fun? I watch the news. I read news magazines, but I’m reconsidering that now.

Keira Knightley & James McAvoy Do ‘W Magazine’
Spoken in true Chandler Bing-fashion, “Could they BE any hotter?”
Keira Knightley and James McAvoy are not only featured on this week’s cover of Entertainment Weekly, the Atonement costars are heating up the pages of W Magazine in their February 2008 issue. Interview snippets below!
Keira on the things written about her in years past including anorexia and breaking the heart of her ex-boyfriend, model Jamie Dornan: “It’s like having piles of s— put on your head. As a teenager you put enough on yourself. You’re a spotty emotional wreck whose body is changing, and you’re just not equipped to deal with that sort of thing.”
James (half kidding) on feeling a bit more pressure acting. “I won’t lie and say that I’m completely unfazed by it all. I am fazed by it all. I want the movie to do really well, and I want it to win lots of Oscars and BAFTAs, and I want it to win the adulation of every single member of the human race. But at the same time I would hate to think that any of us should feel any less proud simply because it didn’t garner lots of awards. So it’s a strange conflict. There’s a part of me that wants to forget all of these things, and there’s a part of me that can’t.”
Keira on growing up fast for her acting career, but not in real-life: “From a very young age I realized that you didn’t get parts if you acted like a child. So even at seven I remember picking a way to behave, a way that worked. Though in my personal life I don’t think I’m particularly mature. I don’t particularly want to be mature! [My London apartment] always looked very transient. We were sitting on folding chairs.”
James on working with Keira: “She has smelly feet! I’m just kidding. Please don’t put that in.”
